Who may submit: Open to all residents of North Webster Parish (Springhill, Sarepta, Shongaloo, Cotton Valley, Cullen) and surrounding community members with a stake in local issues.
Topic focus: Questions should relate to local/parish issues, policy positions, or matters relevant to the office being sought. Questions unrelated to the candidates' potential duties may not be selected.
One question per submission: Please submit one question per entry. You may submit multiple entries if you have more than one question.
Neutral, non-leading phrasing: Questions should be worded factually and without loaded language, personal attacks, or built-in assumptions of guilt/wrongdoing. Questions framed as attacks on a specific candidate's character will not be used.
No candidate-specific "gotcha" questions: Questions should be answerable by any candidate in that race, not tailored to embarrass or trap a single individual.
Length limit: Questions should be concise — a suggested limit of [ 50 words] — to fit within the forum's time constraints.
No profanity, slurs, or defamatory statements: Submissions containing offensive, discriminatory, or legally defamatory content will be disqualified.
Anonymity of submitter: Submitted questions will not be attributed to the individual who submitted them when read aloud, unless the submitter opts in and the Chamber agrees it's appropriate.
Selection is at Chamber discretion: All questions are subject to review and selection by Chamber staff for relevance, clarity, civility, and fit within the forum format. Not all submitted questions will be used, and duplicate or similar questions may be combined or narrowed to one.
Deadline: Questions must be submitted by September 23, via online submission or in-person at the Chamber Office 400 North Giles, Springhill. Late submissions will not be guaranteed consideration.
No campaign material or advertising: Submissions may not be used to promote a candidate, campaign, or outside organization.
Nonpartisan intent: The Chamber selects and asks questions in a nonpartisan manner and does not endorse any candidate or party. Question selection is based on relevance and community interest, not political viewpoint.
