The
Springhill Police
department is headed by
Chief Ronnie Coleman. Our
police station and jail
is housed in a new very
modern facility. The
police department has
eight offices, a kitchen
and visitation room ,
which occupies 3116
square feet of space. The
jail is 114 square feet
which is made up of 7
cells, each of which
holds two people. This
allows the police
department to house 14
prisoners. The jail is
completely concrete, wall
and floor. Each cell has
a small window to the
outside and also has a
small window in the jail
door. There is a food
hatch that opens to feed
the prisoners. There are
no bars in the jail. Our
Police department employs
15 fulltime and 1
part-time police
officers. The sixteen
officers are made up of
five sergeants, five
patrolmen, four
dispatchers, the police
chief and one part-time
dispatcher. The new
building is an asset to
the community and is far
superior to the old
police station it
replaced.
