Masonic Lodge
Springhill Lodge #348 was instituted in 1912. It is the
oldest fraternal organization in ward 2, Webster
Parish. It is under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of the State of
Louisiana.
Freemasonry is far from all that is trivial, selfish, and
ungodly. Its structure is built upon the everlasting foundation of the
fatherhood of God, the brotherhood of man, and the immortality of the
soul.
Masonry has many charitable project. Many millions of
dollars each day are contributed worldwide by various Masonic
organizations. You are a master mason when you complete the degree work in
the Springhill Lodge, and you must be a master mason before you are
eligible to join any of the other Masonic organizations.
One of the basic tenants of Free masonry is that we take
good men and make them better
Its membership is composed of bankers, lawyers, professionals, doctors,
judges, elected officials, businessmen, factory workers, union members,
farmers, clerks, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, lumberjacks, truck
drivers, and many others. The members are a cross section of the
community.
