Eluida Flanakin , the only lady among them, was National Executive Committee Woman,  to the National Organization of the American Legion Auxiliary in 1980-1981.  She came to Springhill in 1940, and taught school here for 36 years.  She gave most of her life to the community.   Everyone here knows and loves  "Mrs. Flan".   Mrs. Flanakin still resides in Springhill and continues to spread a smile to everyone she meets
