Springhill City Government
Springhill, was incorporated in 1902 and has a
Mayor-Alderman (Lawrason) type of government. We are part of the LMA
District A, which consists of Caddo, Bossier, Webster and Desoto parishes.
Our population is 5437.
Springhill's Mayor
Mayor Carroll Breaux, wife Diana, and one-year old son Rusty moved to Springhill (Diana's hometown) in 1982. In 1986, daughter Robbi was added to the family. Both children graduated from Springhill High School and now reside in Ruston, Louisiana.
Carroll was elected Mayor in September of 2006. Prior to that, he served as District 4 Alderman for 16 years. During this time Springhill has seen many improvements and continues to move forward.
Mayor Breaux supports the many activities in the community for both young and old alike. The many talented people of Springhill willing to work together are what continues to make "Springhill Special"
Springhill's spacious Civic Center houses the municipal offices, and a 600-700 seat convention center. The facility is used by our entire community. Tall pines and a beautifully landscaped park add to the attractiveness of the center.
The City governing body is made up of a mayor and five aldermen, elected by the people of Springhill. Serving with Mayor Breaux are Aldermen Edward Bankhead mayor pro tem - District 1, Jimmy W. Morgan, JR - District 2, Robert Hilburn - District 3 , Gary Montgomery - District 4, and Ray Huddleston - District 5. The aldermen are elected for four year terms. The current aldermen's terms will expire in 2010.
Bankhead,
a local businessman is owner of North-South Contractors. He is in his
ninth elected term and will have served the city for 36 years at the end
of this term. Robert Hilburn, serving his sixth term, is self-employed.

Sheriff's Office with vast experience in law-enforcement, are both serving

highly effective in serving the City of Springhill.
