                                          Springhill Airport

Springhill has a $1.5 Million airport with a 4002 foot runway.  King Air and Lear jets  are able to land on it.  This makes it of great benefit to any business
considering Springhill
as a possible site for location of a business.

The city owns 150 acres of land around the airport, that is available for industrial development.  Utilities are already at the site.

We have applied for a 1000 foot extension to be added to the runway.  This would make it possible for any aircraft to land here.  We have updated the airport and moved hangars to improve taxiway.   We have  new gasoline pump facilities and new lights.  The airport now has new Pilot Controlled Lights and Precision Approach Path Indicator Lights (PAPI).  These will allow a pilot to tell if he is too high or too low.  We also have a new Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), which allows a pilot to set the beacon frequency of 375 in his plane's auto-pilot and be able to locate the airport automatically.

The city built a new apron and constructed a new T-hangar that will house four airplanes. A private individual built a $75,000 hangar on the new apron that will house any kind of large aircraft.

The city  also purchased a new house for the airport manager to live in on the site. We believe the Springhill Airport will rival the facilities of much larger cities.
